Oh no. The Holiday Inn is (was?) not a nice building, but at least it was different. Disappointed to hear it is being reclad to become yet another bland monochromatic block.

Do we know what it looked like originally? I think it was built around 1999 (looks like a construction side in that very poor quality satellite view on GeoOttawa).

IIRC exactly the same, it was basically a 'warranty' reclad.
The Revalie on Brookfield almost falls into the same class of building, as it's exterior cladding is close to all of the other buildings you highlighted in this thread already.
Wonder if the same will happen with the Brigil redevelopment of the Riverside Mall on Ridgewood...
Shockingly, their pick-up truck is a an actual colour.
I've see mid-century bungalows "modernized" with such a terrible treatment, or added to with charchwhite additions, but never see a "modern" (I consider anything from the mid-80s to today "modern") suburban home like this,
