"Each of the 97 doors | windows, positioned with accuracy, frames a piece of landscape or captures a moment in time."

I can remember an apartment I had in Chinatown where "each of the 3 doors | windows, tilted with accuracy, frames a piece of landscape (the rear alley garbage bins) or captures a moment in time (rent is due again and I don't get paid for another week)."

What's the problem?

It's not the first big mansion built in Montreal. Have a walk in Westmount or in the Goden Square mile for what remains in this area.

As far as I know, Paul Martin does have a nice place and I remember that P.E.T. owned an historic art deco house on Pine avenue.

However, is it because she is a woman, a sovereignist or a french-speaking «parvenue»? I find that there is something very cheap about all this storie.

Yeah it's because she's a woman!

The PQ would twice the salary of every anglophone in Montreal and I can guaranty you that they would keep on having a fit against the PQ leaded in the first place by Don Macpherson.

The problem is that Pauline Marois and her husband do not come from money, nor were they wealthy before entering politics. Now they live in a giant, extremely opulent mansion on land that seems to have been acquired through corruption. The existence of the house itself testifies to the kind of political malfeasance that we're trying root out of this province.

The same can be said about Jean Charest. Charest was a meaningless junior lawyer prior entering in politic. Unless you count Paul Desmarais as family, Charest was not any more wealthy than Marois.

BTW, its not like "Michou" is doing a whole lot to bring home the bacon which is even more suspicious...

Her husband was a private real estate developer and was once the right-hand man of Robert Campeau. He was already rich when he started working for public sector organizations like the Société générale de financement.

Last I heard Pauline sold her Ile Bizard castle and moved into a multi-million dollar apartment in the Canada Life building http://www.vieux.montreal.qc.ca/inve...p?sec=o&num=14 on St-jacques street, adjacent to the St-James hotel. She uses it as her Montreal rez.

(skyscraper related note: the canada life building is actually Montreal's first true skyscraper.

other skyscraper-related note: I think the official residence of the premier of Quebec is in the penthouse of the Price building in Quebec city. Which is pretty darn cool.

Charest is from a pretty well-to-do family though.

Was it a coincidence that Marois (who resembles la Castafiore) lived in a mansion that resembles le Château de Moulinsart?

I prefer our leaders have something in common with the common people.

I don't think it is a particularly attractive house anyways. Nice style but at a certain point big becomes too big.

Gros problem d'ethique...

$2 million is nothing nowadays. Houses in DDO cost $2 million nowadays.
