An interesting, evidence based video exploring zoning, taxation, and housing affordability in Vancouver. Worth the watch!

The ALR was created to prevent wasteful sprawl. Paving for parking lots is cheap and fast after all.

Now, the ALR is a barrier to efficient and resilient patterns of land use.

Just because Toigo is getting a big new bridge and casino from Christy Clark, doesn't mean rolling back the ALR in the lower mainland is a bad idea. Especially at a time when land prices are suffocating vital activity like living or business. Too bad there isn't a politician in Victoria who can discuss both sides of the matter.
