^Yeah, it fills in a huge gap from the City Centre Airport vantage point.

That is an amazing rendering of what Toronto could look like in the not too distant future. I certainly hope all the big ones get built.
Simply put: wow!

^ Now that is impressive. WOW. I see the Cityplace Signature towers, Ten York, Aura, Massey Tower, One Bloor, Harbour Plaza, Holts tower, One Yonge, Oxford, but still missing a few like the Mirvish towers.

Imagine if Toronto one day gets to that level.... insane.

Will the towers in Yorkville etc really appear that tall from the lake though? Perspective seems off.

This looks like it is supposed to be the view from the Leslie st spit, where you can more clearly see the northward spread of the skyline. You will be able to see the stuff in Yorkville, but yeah, the perspective is wacky. They won't look that tall.

yep the perspective is off. the yonge + bloor proposals would look much smaller, probably around 1/2 the height they are in that image.

If anything, AUra is too short. Look at 44 Charles and compare to One Bloor and Holt Renfrew.

Compare it to Scotiabank. They appear to be the same height. That isn't possibly correct (from that angle).

Looks good but it needs a good pinnacle in the form of a tower at least 350m, preferably in either the financial district or between it and Yorkville.

44 Charles appears much taller than it is due to being up hill doesn't it? The same would apply to other structures in the Bloor/Yorkville area

Now the tough part is getting it built. Although most would admit that Toronto is on a higher trajectory than New York, going by sheer numbers of towers under construction. (And obviously not the height of the buildings)

If all our proposals get built, we'd then need to double our count of 100m+ buildings and have about 15 super talls to rival Manhattan (847 100m+ buildings). I don't think people realize how gigantic that skyline actually is. Chicago! Now there's a city we'd equal and likely pass if the proposals on the table get built. It would be Toronto (387) vs. Chicago (335).

Are you sure you're seeing One Yonge? You can see the Toronto Star building and there are no towers directly behind it or to the right.

This rendering is before One Yonge. When this rendering was made, we were speculating that a 100 floor tower would be built somewhere along Yonge, or Yorkville. But weren't sure. This rendering is from December of last year 2012
