One Thousand Museum Exoskeleton Reaches Pinnacle At 706 Feet Above Ground
Quote:
Zaha Hadid’s One Thousand Museum is nearing top off.
According to ODP Architects, the final piece of formwork panel that makes up the building’s exoskeleton was being installed yesterday at 706 feet above ground – exactly the tallest height above ground approved by the Federal Aviation Administration.
In 2014, the FAA granted approval for the building to top off at a height of 706 feet above ground, or 709 feet above sea level.
At the very top of the building, a helipad is planned.
Also at the top, an Aquatic Center and Sky Lounge designed by Hadid is being built, including an infinity edge pool.
Construction got underway more than three years ago, in December 2014 (exactly 1,137 days).

It’s official: Zaha Hadid’s One Thousand Museum is now topped off.
On Friday, contractors hoisted a giant American flag, and hosted a topping off party with construction workers to mark the occasion.
Workers were told they have seven and a half months to go. Full completion is scheduled in about ten and a half months, on about December 21, according to the project website. Groundbreaking took place in December 2014.
The official top off height is 709 feet, or 60 stories.

Episode 1: The Scorpion Tower (Premieres February 7, 2018)
In Miami, follow the construction of one of the most complex skyscrapers ever to make it off the drawing board. Its design is so radical that construction experts have turned to a building material never before used in skyscrapers.
It kind of reminds me of a contemporary Marina City. It's so organic.
