Gotcha. FYI, Sacramentans who read this (hopefully in the next few hours), I'll be at the top floor of Lot A at sunset, so if there's anything you want to see from up there, let me know.

Nice photos! Is the new Crocker expansion visible from the 5 freeway (from driving within the Boat section)?

Yes, it is.

I hate to say this, but I've kinda run out of ideas regarding what and where to shoot in Sacramento. If anyone knows some good spots, let me know. I've already shot my spots enough that unless the sky's unbelievably amazing, it's a boring shot.

I'm sort of a fan of pictures of Industrial areas. Thinking Richards Blvd. and west Broadway areas.

Thanks for the pics JZurn. Having seen the outside a few times in person and now your pics I think the Crocker expansion looks incredibly sterile and bland. The only feature I have liked so far is the industrial factory style, ridged roof. I can't seem to get past the sea of blinding white and gray surfaces. I read somewhere that some of the surfaces will weather over time and change appearance which I hope will add some interest in the design otherwise the interior is going to have to wow the hell out me to keep me from feeling that the museum should have had a much better return on its investment...

Here are some more from me, taken last night between 8 and 9.

I'm disappointed in the quality of that last one, but just like every other art form, always gotta keep practicing.

Nice shot of the Tower Theater ThatDarnSacramentan, the neon and sky
colors look sharp and balanced.

I was inspired in early spring to go out and get some good shots.

thought so, i just got confused when he said riverS district, thanks though

at least there is somthing going on as far as development, but there's nothing even planned that's tall and has a chance to be built.

Also, I saw something on News10 about what the railyards would look like, and in the corner of the screen, i saw a building that looked about 20-30 floors, does anyone know what that is?

I think those buildings were just for show and what the railyard design will and might look like. But there's really no skyscrapers proposed, though high-rises will rise there someday.

is there a thread for the railyards in the general development section? if so we should start posting some of this stuff in there. It would be great to get more attention.

The River District is the area north of the Railyards and south of the American River, between the Sacramento River and about 18th Street. Alkali Flat/Mansion Flat are south and east of the Railyards between 7th and 16th, from B Street to about H Street.

Here is a map of the River District area:

http://www.cityofsacramento.org/dsd/...ary-Aerial.pdf

Here is the thread for Railyards discussion:
http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...132414&page=35

There were some renderings and sketches done of what the completed Railyards might look like, but so far as I know there are not detailed proposals for specific places. Is this the picture you were talking about?

Last night's sunset. Okay, so it isn't "technically" Sacramento, but I took it from Sacramento, right next to Joe's Crab Shack. I have more from last night, but they're still being processed.

Great photo man!!! The CalStars Building is a awesome addition to the West Sac riverfront. I really love how the light hits the facade. I wish West Sac can create its own skyline someday with buildings like the CalStrs.
