Suspect in the U of A shooting is an employee of the armoured car service.

TORONTO - A shooting at a cafe in broad daylight in Toronto's Little Italy neighbourhood has left one person dead.

Another person has been rushed to hospital.

Toronto police say shots were fired just after 3:30 p.m. today at the Sicilian Cafe near College St. and Ossington Ave.

Police are investigating.

The shooting occurred as soccer fans had gathered to see Italy play Ireland in an opening round match that could determine whether Italy advances in the Eurocup.

^ So the shooting was over the soccer game, or just happened where it was showing? Either way, well done humanity.

It sounds like it was between a couple construction workers, no word what the dispute was though.

Still at zero here in St. John's. If Windsor can do it, we can too!

Nice to hear.

Since I've moved there, people have been talking about the city becoming more dangerous than in the past (which of course I can't comment on), but in my two school years there I've yet to see so much as a fight. I've heard more arguments in St. John's than anywhere else I've been in the country, but the city still feels very tame to me violence-wise.

The good thing with St. John's is you're really not going to be a part of the violence unless you're in the drug trade, or drunk and rowdy downtown. Crime has increased, but thankfully random crime hasn't, unless we're talking property crime and car break ins. Still safe to walk the streets, for now anyway.

Ha, no. 99% likelihood it was a mob hit, the assassin was disguised in a construction worker outfit.

Yeah, my house was broken into last summer. It wasn't exactly random though; I think the guy was shown the house the week prior by the property management company, and knew it was empty. Went in the back door, and had a car waiting out front to load all the goodies into.

This year there has been someone there all summer, and I have a security system now. Not worried about that anymore.

Something I found weird was when that triple murder happened in Aylmer not that far from me, the local rag said nothing about it. Perhaps it was too shocking for our geriatric community? Anyway the top stories of the week after were about the ugly pot holders on main street and planes changing their flightpaths because Ottawa International Airport needed to pave a runway. Can't talk about murders in town, how interesting is that?

I hope this is not the start of more gang shootings in Calgary again. This is right beside Smash Burger where my son works. The whole plaza was closed all day yesterday so he didn't work.

Terrible news for Toronto...

Mass shooting at a Scarborough BBQ party kills 2 and injures 20+. 14 year old and 23 year old have died.
