Not this year, although prep work may be underway.

If anything its building the infrastructure to support new development south of Southdale. Need more sewers, power line and crap.

-----

Also!

Commissioners is down to one lane each way through the Pond Mills area. Traffic was very backed up this morning, might want to avoid the area for a bit. I think it's just a resurfacing project, so it may not last long, but not sure though.

Thats what I assumed, they are absolutely doing sewer work east from Bostwick towards Wonderland. Seeing as they just finished re-doing Bostwick logic would have suggested to maybe do this work at the same time...but no lets dig up a fresh road haha.

This is precisely why I don't like this province's approach to dealing with roads that intersect with major highways - it's basically to dump it on whatever municipality the road is located in, without any consideration of how a new interchange might affect the regional road network.

This is why the entire province of Ontario needs a proper secondary highway system like almost every other province has. This situation is not Elgin County's responsibility nor Southwold Township, it's the MTO's problem and should be their responsibility to deal with. They never have built a proper highway link between London and St. Thomas (Highway 4 is not really practical unless you're coming from west of London or London's SW), so interurban traffic is bound to use roads like Wonderland to access St. Thomas from the 401. Planning of a highway network at the provincial level in this province takes place in far too much isolation between major highways and minor highways, because they are left to three entirely separate levels of government.

In an ideal situation, the building of the Wonderland interchange would have been accompanied by the upgrading of Wonderland Road south of the 401 by the MTO as some sort of secondary highway (whether 500/600 series or unposted 7000-series), and the MTO maintaining responsibility for it to at least Highway 3 until such time a limited access highway can be built between London and St. Thomas that can properly deal with interurban traffic in the region.

Southwold Township and Elgin County should be demanding action from Queen's Park, whether it be providing funding for the upgrades or building the upgrades themselves. I'm sure they can siphon off a little bit of the money allocated towards widening the 401 in Mississauga.

I've owned a dashcam since October. Today I got my first 'decent' footage. Keep your brakes in good repair, people.

Location: Wellington Road northbound between Base Line and Commissioners Road

Sometimes I just want to know what goes on in other people's minds. It's not like he could have been looking the other way in that situation. Wow.

Better now then in 4 weeks when 25000 clueless Western/Fanshawe students show up and start clogging up the roads and causing collisions.

Close call is right. Vancouver's worse areas are of course Chinese dominant Richmond.
#3 Road is the main commercial corridor and the accident rate on it is so high that people at ICBC {Insurance Corp of BC} refer to it as the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

London has always had horrid traffic. Obviously due to never building an inner-city freeway which has left the city traffic chocked but at the same time allowed the city to maintain the connectivity of it's neighbourhoods, it's architectural heritage, and created a constant urban fabric with no big gaps between streets or communities which plague freeway dominant cities.

Fanshawe Pkwy East of Adelaide

Are they converting that to a 4 lane just like east of Adelaide? How about any bike lanes. Anyone know when they will be done with this project?
