I can't get over how ugly the antenna is turning out. Wow. At least Conde's 'ornament' revels in its ugliness; this just happens to be a total afterthought.

Also, the Brooklyn boom is evident in the last photo, and activity is going to increase dramatically by the end of this year. Between each of New York's individual skylines, DoBro will see the most overall change--unless you count the Hudson Yards as a new skyline separate from Midtown.

It was hoisted yesterday to roof and we call the piece put up yesterday 315, the one on dog house 316, and the final pair 317/318. 316 needs a crane jump before it goes up and then final pair

Don't forget LIC; midtown and downtown will also change drastically in the next few years so I would say NYC's skyline as a whole will change quite a lot in the next decade.
Back to this tower, as much as I hate the spire/antenna, it's actually more visible than I thought, driving from the west side highway and even from Bensonhurst in Brooklyn you can clearly see it. Can't wait to see the whole thing finished so I can make a final judgement.

Agreed. Conde's charm is that it looks like a Frankenstein pieced together out of random bits of other scrapers, so its antenna suits it. 1WTC is sleek and shiny for 1,373 feet and then suddenly becomes the exact opposite, which is jarring.

Again the glass is clear. The glass has no color. It only reflects the color of the sky.

i doubt they have raised the final double mast piece up yet (317/318?). that will probably go up with great fanfare.

A little old, but some pictures I took while I was in NYC on April 4th. I'm just getting around to posting them. I haven't gotten down from Boston to take pictures in NYC in about 3 years. I have been following the progress on here, but it was great to see it in person:

Is it me or am I the only one who thinks the mast/spire is to tall?

It's not even completed and it looks way to tall.
