Can someone who has Philly in their top five please provide some photo evidence for their choice? I haven't been there for 7 years, but then the skyline was pretty mediocre and certainly not in the world's top 10, let alone top 5.

Love the photos in this thread!

I think if construction in Toronto continues as it HAS. We should get more cozy in the TOP 10 of the worlds greatest skylines, and even
THE TOP 5 SKYLINES OF THE WORLD.

This is all subjective but it's all very fun too.

My Top 5.

1. New York / Hong Kong - tie.
2. Chicago
3. Shanghai
4. Toronto / Sinapore - tie.
5. Sydney.

Runner Up - Dubai.

now if only toronto would add some supertalls, it would be certainly in the top10.
--> are there any serious supertall proposals?

Singapore doesn't have any supertalls, and I think it has a world's top 5 skyline.

We'll be ok, without one. And of course, we have the CN Tower as a supertall backup/replacement.

We have had a few before, all of which were canceled or cut down.
-Trump International Hotel & Tower (cut down)
-Sapphire Tower (cut down then canceled)
-One Bloor East (previous developer sold it, new developer cut it down)

One big problem with Toronto is that they have height restrictions in many parts of downtown, and in another prime spot they have a shadow restriction.
So there aren't many places to locate one.

Sounds ridiculous, but the city doesn't want a large shadow cast over Nathan Philips Square, in front of city hall. Meanwhile, the place has been across the street from tall towers since the '60s.

Dubai would probably be in the top 15 skylines for me.

It is ridiculous. imagine if New York didn't want shadows on their city hall, or central park. say goodbye to the Beekman, woolworth building, the time warner center, and Carnegie 57.
