[Burnaby] Akimbo Brentwood | 40fl | Completed

Hi, just wondering if there are any other Akimbo future owners on here.

I don't see any updates on this forum but I just passed by the site and the hole's been dug up pretty deep so far if anyone's wondering.

Parking question

Hi does anyone have any info regarding the pricing for a extra parking spot? Other buildings around the area is charging 25-35k per parking stall so not sure how much would akimbo would be charging.

Unfortunately this is not a real estate forum. Ask your realtor.

I am lazy and on mobile but I was wondering how similar these balconies are to the new tower in Coal Harbour?

Not too sure how much a second parking spot will cost, I asked before and they put me on a waiting list. They did offer to upgrade the included parking spot to a EV spot for $4000 if I remember correctly

Which new tower in Coal Harbour? Akimbo's balconies reminds me of the Bosa Cardero balconies on West Georgia

How many bedroom is your unit? We purchased 2 bedroom and was put on a waitlist for the parking spot. Not sure what’s a reasonable price to purchase it at...

Yep, that's the one. I was just blanking on the name but they look very, very similar. Is the developer the same?

Those balconies look great. This could be the nicest tower in Brentwood if not all of Burnaby!

2 bedroom + den, sorry not sure how much a second parking spot typically goes for in the Brentwood area. If they get back to me, I'd let you know how much they're charging

Yeah I really like the design of the Cadero lol, probably one of the things that made me go to Akimbo. Different developers, Cadero is Bosa Properties and Akimbo is Imani Development

Agreed!

The same thought went through my mind when I looked at the renderings of this tower.

Isn't there also a third tower of similar design under planning next to Metrotown station? Are they all the same developer?

Different architects too; Cardero is by Henriquez Architects, the 'homage' is by IBI Group.

Which tower or project is that?

Also, I'm predicting that this, 'cross-hatched'/criss-crossing, "zig-zagging" balcony design motif is going to be the new (read :'over-used, over-repeated and over-done') "asymmetrical framing box" or the new "Lantern-box-on-top-of-a-tower motif for this new decade that will ubiquitously show up in every other new high-rise tower designed.

It certainly seems crowd-pleasing enough, and if nothing else is effective enough in breaking the monotony of the standard square "block-ey" tower form that is all too common and the de facto form for towers designed over the last little while.

There is a proposal for a 30-something floor tower between Metroplace and Highline that to my best recollection has a similar design.

Hi thanks for the info. I did get a quote as well but it seems the price is above market price. We are still thinking if we should put our name down for it.
