Being a clear #2 is getting a start every 7+ games.

#1A is getting a start every third game or so.

I'm getting a good laugh out of Ferland and Hamilton being near the top of TSN's trade bait board. I wasn't sure about the trade as Hamilton was our best D last year and Ferland is becoming a pretty good power forward, but now it's so clearly in Calgary's favour. I wonder if we could get Ferland back in the fold somehow...

No, it's most definitely #1A. Without a doubt.

Yeah, it sucks, especially when they were doing so well without him, but I'm confident they'll bounce back. Every team goes through slides throughout the season. I'm not overly concerned...yet.

I'd rather the spotlight go on some other teams like the Flames, and let the Leafs quietly get back on track.

No Pettersson and Canucks just coming off a win = Oilers win.

Jesus the Oilers give up a lot of grade A chances. This would have been a 4 or 5 point game for Pettersson. Tank mode must roll on.

He has certainly earned his plaudits this season.

It would be nice to not have to go all in on Hellebuyck like the Jets did in last year's playoffs and give Helle a little more rest to have him last longer down the stretch, but does that mess with his head too much to not have him as the undisputed #1 starting goalie?
Helle can sit on the bench for a long time. Just another overpaid player not living up to his contract. Hes rated 18th in the nhl for save percentage ans goals allowed in. And last year whe he was making under a milli9m he was 1 and 2 in the nhl all year. The guy needs to get his shit together, we dont need another Pavelic

I'm a firm believer in the concept that you ride your hot goaltender until he breaks. Then Helle can come in as backup, play a few games and get his confidence back. Brossoit is certainly playing much better and I don't care who is #1; I just want a goalie that can win games. Whatever it takes.

I was pretty choked when we traded Brossoit to the Oilers (we got Smid back and he only played 109 games in 3 seasons), but then Brossoit sucked in Edmonton so I forgot about him. Looks like he's finally turning into the goalie I expected all along.

I think Hellebuyck might have found his confidence. 5-1 in Nashville, dominating the whole game, is the definition of a "statement win". What's amazing is that it's a whole different cast of characters who are doing the scoring of late.

Yep. Depth throughout your line up is a good thing! And Hellebuyck stood tall tonight. I like it when the Jets fly under the radar and nobody talks about them, but I just couldn't help myself tonight after such a stellar performance!

Big win by the Leafs tonight...another statement game Andersen played well, and was key, but still a strong game from the Leafs against the top team in the league, and in their barn.

It is going to be a great test for us, but I also predict a very rough game.

My beer league game is at the same time, I guess I get to miss most of this one unfortunately.
