Franchise owner of Red Robin's Canada is cheap.

Seems like the only location he cares about is Guildford.

And the Guildford one wasn't that great when i lived in the area. When is the last time they opened a new restaurant in BC? Seems like it's slowly fading away.

Driving by the Guildford one, it looks like it was renovated (new sign, slogan)

But they didn't bother to go back in Station Square (which was a bigger money maker than Boston Pizza), they closed Broadway and Oak, downtown is on a month to month lease. In addition NV closing? I doubt they have any plans for the Lougheed location.

Red Robin's in the states is doing extremely well, I'm sure management there is hugely disappointed with the BC master franchisee

Oh noes. That's my go-to Red Robin!

I don't understand how Red Robin could be doing poorly as the restaurants are always pretty busy (granted, I mostly go on Saturday evenings). Anyways, their burgers are very tasty and I only dislike their fries. Shame if they will be fading away.

Though I don't like Stanley Park beer, I do really like this idea, seems like a no-brainer.

Yeah, Vancouver has a shortage of breweries/beer pubs.

And shelve this BS connection to Stanley Park please (from the articles).

This is not a mom ‘n’ pop shop. Stanley Park Brewing isn’t even really a brewery. It’s a brand of Turning Point Brewery, which also produces Hell’s Gate and is owned by the Mark Anthony Group, which also happens to own Mission Hill Winery, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Palm Bay and others.

The media said Stanley Park Brewing was the second choice. The original winner of the bid pulled out, anyone know who it was?

If they go small format like A&W has there's no reason they can't grab multiple spots downtown.

Not sure if true. The joint location with Tim Hortons on Alberni was small, yet they pulled out. Crazy expensive rent perhaps? Then again Tims is still there as well as an A&W next door...

Franchise owner decided to stick with Tim's only (Same with VGH Broadway location)

A&W Canada has pretty solid upper management, not sure if the same can be said of Wendy's

Wendy's and TH are owned by the same corporate parent.

Not since 2006. It's now BK and TH.

I just find it stupid that they just renovated the whole store and likely the two kitchens too. Now it all sits empty and dark. There is no other tenant to be found for that space...

That's what I assumed would happen when they closed that Alberni Wendy's. I figured that maybe the franchisee was trying to reposition him/herself because of the corporate changes and that it was going to be replaced with a BK.

tim hortons and wendys ended their shared location deal and at the time it was reported wendys would pull out of any shared locations they had, but there are still some combined locations in the suburbs
