Site Photos Capture Construction Progress at Hudson Yards

Quote:
At 387 metres and 90 floors above street level, 30 Hudson Yards will become the second tallest office building in New York City — and consequently the tallest of Hudson Yards — upon completion in 2019. The 240,000 square metres of LEED Gold-designed spaces are currently under construction, and the tower's steel structure is approximately six storeys tall as of November 2015. A protruding observation deck on the 88th floor will become the highest outdoor observation point in the city.

Give it some time. Dirt and grime doesn't just happen overnight, it'll take some effort...

Wells Fargo is buying commercial condominium space at the 2.6-million-square-foot 30 Hudson Yards office tower being developed by Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group, sources familiar with the deal confirmed.

The San Francisco-based banking giant will take roughly half a million square feet divided between two sections of the 80-story tower, one person with knowledge of the deal told Commercial Observer. The purchase price and exact floors were not immediately disclosed.

This has been a big success as far as getting tenants over to the west side. And it's a big deal, because we aren't just talking about tenants signing a lease...

Wells Fargo to buy two office condos at 30 Hudson Yards
Bank will occupy a total of 500K sf at the rising West Side tower

November 19, 2015

Quote:
Wells Fargo is the latest multinational firm to commit to owning massive spaces at 30 Hudson Yards, agreeing to buy the massive West Side tower’s last office condominium units. The San Francisco-based bank will buy two spaces at the tower totaling about 500,000 square feet, roughly a fifth of the 2.6 million-square-foot project currently being developed by the Related Cos. and Oxford Properties.

There’s not much space left at 30 Hudson Yards. Time Warner bought a colossal 1.6-million-square-foot office condo there last year. More recently, private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts agreed to buy a 400,000-square-foot space at the building. Related itself plans to take 270,000 square feet there as well.

I love it when some of the defining features of a building start to take shape early. And with the building roster all but full, there's nothing left to do but build it.

NOVEMBER 21, 2015

And McDonald's only has weeks left to remain open.

i'm sure they'll be able to find something to eat without McDonald's
This project is going to change the skyline as much as any of the tall towers north of downtown have if not more because of it's location

For the people that can afford to live in the HY area, McDonalds would be below them. These people have higher standards.

I think Related bought assembled some parcels, including the McDonald's site...
They're rumored to be developing the Hudson Spire, there.

*Either that, or it's the Tishman Speyer site...I get them confused

All of the above questions and more can be answered in the 50 Hudson Yards thread.
