the new style of the texas & southcentral thread has effectively killed it. who came up with this idea? it's basically a maze of nonsense. I vote for a return to the way it was.

Yeah, I vote for that, too. There are too many levels now.

It was better before the changes. Then again people posted more in general, especially photos, before the changes. Coincidence?

i agree completely this new format is terrible...but here are two things you can do

find the specific thread such as austin update (this one) and put it in your favorites but edit the end of the address so its like 50 pages ahead of the current one so it automatically takes you to the most current page.

or....

do a google search for "austin update" or "austin projects and construction"

I don't post much at all but I do read the Austin threads everyday. I agree with the above posters that the new format should be changed back. Seems there are some three different areas to find Austin threads even though there is a section called Austin.

It would have been better if they just added an Austin and San Antonio sub-forums below the original Texas & Southcentral forum. If there must be a separate section for Megathreads it would be better if they were under their respective city's sub-forum.

With that said, I'm not sure what was wrong with the old version. The pinned threads was where most of the activity was anyway.

I moved this out of the update thread and gave it it's own thread. I can move the Austin megathreads here if you like.

The Austin megathread sticky is coded to go directly to the last post whichever post that maybe, you can use that code to go to the last page.

I agree. The new system is confusing. I applaud the effort to improve it, but I've gotten lost in the maze a few times.

The San Antonio threads went back into the San Antonio section too. Just remember, everything Austin will be in here, and everything San Antonio in their section too. As for the rest of Texas, they'll be in the main Texas section, and their megathreads, update threads and such, will be in the megathread section.

And of course the dedicated photo threads now include videos, but the difference is they can be anyones videos if not your own.

I was afraid of being accused of being negative, but I HATE the new layout. It is too confusing and it tends to keep the viewer away from the threads relating to other Texas and SW cities. By that I mean it is not necessary to go look for other threads about other cities in the region. I never understood why it was necesary to change the layout in the first place.

If only there was a dedicated forum that was easy to navigate specifically for Austin...

Because of the sticky threads mainly, the only way to go back to the original setup is to not have stickies, if those threads are active enough, they'd be near the top anyway and other threads would have a chance to rise to the top.

Only the lesser trafficked construction threads would be stickied.

I mostly lurk and have done so for years. I agree with the above statements. The new layout is frustrating and discourages users from looking into city-specific threads.
