I love that you've been registered for two months and made your first post to confirm this. What's your source?

Awesome Nick! That color transition is very apparent. It'll be interesting to see how it looks complete as opposed to a more gradual color transition.

Wow, I just got a hell of a lot more excited. That glass looks amazing! I'm really looking forward to seeing more of it go up. Thanks for the pics, Nick!

Is this the sexiest supertall in the U.S.? I think it’s going to be a iconic building.

I can’t think of a building that is as interesting to look at since Aqua and NYC Gehry, but neither are a supertall.

There might be pile ups on LSD due to this building.

This is actually a really salient point. The US has a lot of supertalls at this point, but most are either imposing or nondescript. This one is an absolute beaut just structurally speaking and could reach that next level with the glass being put on.

Come to think of it, this one and those proposed are definitely much sleeker than previous generations of Chicago supertalls. Very exciting

Interesting thought. The Wacker Drive exit is pretty efficient, but definitely gets backed up from time to time. There will be a ton of taxis and ubers doing illegal u-turns at the upper wacker x columbus intersection to get to the building 1-2 mins quicker.

What will help is the separate entrances for hotel guests on upper wacker, allowing residents to creatively avoid traffic by using one of three options to access their garage: sub wacker, lower randolph, or upper randolph.

Additionally, not all of the units will be occupied by chicagoans year round, expect the building to come to life during vacation months.

I scoured google for their traffic study but had no luck. Chicagoans freak out about parking and traffic every time a new building is proposed and there is always a thorough report published. If anybody has it please link us

Translucent Glass Panels

I really wish there were some people from the project frequenting this forum. I have so many questions, let me know if any of you have an idea as to why they are installing what is hopefully temporary clear glass on this building. Also, what's the deal with these random non-reflective panels? You can see two in this photo. Are these going to litter the entire structure?

No need to worry. I believe those are fillers for panels that broke on site.

That's good to hear, also will be fun to keep track of how many they break . How will they install the new ones, with the window washing setup?

^^ sometimes panels like that are miscut too, even in new construction not everything fits 100% perfectly all the time.
