It's already visible on the skyline from as far away as 5-10 miles to the northeast, in Jersey.

Cool thing about a new building like 7WTC, is that you can tell from a mile away which floors (and even parts of floors going by this photo) haven't been rented by the fact that no has yet bothered to drywall-in the columns. On the plus side, it looks like parts of the top 3 floors have finally been leased, on the north face of the building at least.

actually in LM alone Woolworth, 40 wall st, Beekman, One Chase Manhattan Plaza and American international are all taller.

lower manhattan has several towers rising higher than the goldman sachs in jc (781ft), as aig (952ft), 40 wall (927ft), beekman (870ft), one chase manhattan plaza (813ft) and woolworth (792ft).

on topic: as the tower reaches for the sky more and more people are starting to realize, that "something is going on" down there. just yesterday a colleague of mine asked me if the new freedom tower is finally above ground... because she noticed "something" tall when coming into manhattan .
