The site plan was approved and released and shows all four sides (with heights) - files 018 and 019.

https://www.austintexas.gov/devrevie...erRSN=10944407

These are more detailed than the previous ones and show the mechanical penthouse. The previous elevations only showed the height of what was actually the main roof. It listed it as 404 feet. These updated elevations show the mechanical penthouse (box) to be 412 feet 7 inches above the street and the main roof is 405 feet, with no increase in floors. The only heights that changed were those on the main roof and mechanical penthouse.

That height is measured from 2nd Street, but the elevation of the lot drops 11 feet 2 inches along Cesar Chavez. So measured from Cesar Chavez, the building is actually 11 feet 2 inches taller. So when viewed from the south it's actually 423 feet 9 inches tall above Cesar Chavez. If you round it to the next foot, then it's actually taller than The Bowie by one foot.

Don't norms indicate that we measure from the lowest entrance? Thus this building should be listed as 423'9.

I guess so. I was hoping others would chime in on that. Typically I would say yes, but that section of the tower doesn't actually touch Cesar Chavez so I felt kind of funny listing it that way.

Brains??!! That movie is pretty effectively creepy actually. I really think it's underrated for its special effects.

With dimensions and high quality elevations, does anybody have a tool to mock up the view seen/blocked from say, the south east unit at 360 condos? I'm on the west side, but I'm wondering how this will impact those units. Should probably throw in the office building too, but it's not as tall.

An easy way of determining what views will go away, without having to resort to renderings which are less accurate, you can use Google Earth to plot sightlines to certain points.

So right now if you had a unit in 360 in the middle of the building, this building will block your view to the southeast from an area that spans where the Congress Avenue bridge meets the south shore to say the intersection of South First and Barton Springs. Looking farther west/southwest from there, it almost becomes pointless because of the angle, but you would have a view over the west wing of this building from the South First/Barton Springs intersection to about where Sandy's is on Barton Springs. Now, if you had a unit in 360 that was higher up than the roof of this building, then you'd have a good view looking off toward the horizon. You'd only then have a view of the river starting at about where I-35 crosses it. You can use Google Earth and play with it a bit to see the sight lines. I would think the views from 360 will still be quite good.

So I guess they've finished the 10th floor and are pouring the columns for the 11th.

The 10th floor from 2nd Street is 102 feet 8 inches tall, and from Cesar Chavez it's 113 feet 10 inches.

Second, actually. That is, if you count the base portion. But yeah I imagine construction will speed up once that happens. It's already going pretty fast.

It's already starting to have a presence on the skyline, you can see how it will fill in the gap between the 360 and the W. I took this pic last Sunday the 23rd.

Gensler has released new renderings of the Green Water office tower. Here are three of them. Maybe this building should have its own thread. Maybe it does already. I didn't feel like looking:
