That puts top out around Jan 1 if they work a 1.5 floors a week pace. Assuming things slow for concrete complexity at the top of the middle segment, the blow through, and the dampeners, I wouldn't be surprised if top out was more like February.

Hypnotic pics.. I plan for sweet dreams after looking at those.

Not to get off topic but Maggie Daley park at night is such a verdant green at this time of the year.

Amazing pictures! Not to cross threads but those pictures really show how 465 North Park's crown stands out at night. I noticed it the other night. Looks great in that area lit up.

Was traveling SB on LSD yesterday, and can confirm. Vista is already a monster from that vantage, and its still got a good amount of growing to do!

Checking back in folks...no windows still...aaaahh...this building should be hitting the headlines with its record breaking windowless height. This size of delay by whoever responsible is huge and going to cost somebody a fortune. I hear that the original window system proposed was off the shelf, not bespoke design in any way, which brings into play the the question of what drove the award for the facade supply. This project demanded a bespoke engineered and designed facade, but did that fall on deaf ears?

I heard the mockups failed again last week. McHugh drove this towards cheap window wall. EFCO said their systems would work. bKL fought hard against it. Money talks to GCs.
Also heard that all the glass slab edges and the few frames that are installed will all have to be replaced.

Good, fuck McHugh for cheaping out. Hopefully they lose many millions of dollars on this project. Take all the shitty work you did down and do it right.

EFCO plans $15 million addition in Monett

"

Murray Bishoff

The Monnett Times

"EFCO won the Wanda Vista project under a Pella strategy change to grow the business by breaking out of their core competencies in mid-size construction," Klein said. "This strategy expanded EFCO’s reach into large curtainwall projects, a market with which they had no experience. At 93 stories and an approximate $70 million project, Wanda is far larger than any project EFCO had pursued in its history. Clearly, EFCO did not fully understand the complexities of the Wanda project when it took it on, and therefore underbid it."

Seriously... human incompetence can be baffling sometimes

Good thing it's surmountable in the end though.

This is quite a blunder, and yes it will cost the contractor and maybe even the developers more money....

This is a good thing in the end. They will never let something this stupid happen again. Looking like we're going to be getting high quality windows from McHugh projects from now on!
