I'm pretty positive US 20 will be 3 lanes going southbound from Bonneville County to Idaho Falls. They have it marked and everything. I'm really excited if it really is going to be widened to 3 lanes.

Speaking of widening, my guess is I-15 will have to be widened to 3 lanes soon after the Sunnyside Exit is completed because of all the people on the west-side that will want to go to the mall, hospital, resturants, etc.

I really hope the company decides to come here. 700 jobs...awesome.

I am kind of bummed today after reading the article in the Post Register about Sunnyside Road. It seems that because the city dragged their feet and didn't secure the funding for the last mile and a half stretch, it may take until 2010 and cost 3 times as much.

The other thing that bummed me out was hearing that a company passed on IF due to the road not being completed this year. What were the leaders of this city doing! A project that has been in planning for 10 years, and that wasn't long enough to get everything in line. Hopefully the city can secure funds, bonds, or maybe get our governer, Jim Risch to drop us some of that 220 million dollar surplus as a "loan" so a great project doesn't turn into a disaster.

If I was the CEO of a company looking to relocate to IF and had seen and heard about this magnificent mess up I wouldn't come.

Just my little rant for the week. Someone needs to kick start something, this project cannot wait another five years.

Idaho Falls

Sorry about that little rant about Sunnyside, I have a question about something that I came across coming home from work.

What is happening at Taylors Crossing? Utah avenue is closed at the roundabout, and unless they are fixing the fountain, I am clueless because I know it will be a few more weeks until the bronze sculpture goes in. (Hopefully it isn't a sculpture of Linda Milam). HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!!

HAHA. Nice.

Although, I will give ONE prop to her, and one only.

She made Idaho Falls known for Medical jobs, not farming.

Hmmm...I wonder what is going on...widening? No, doubt that.

P.S. What is the deal with that new building going up...it's looked the same for like a month...what's the hold up?

Are you asking about the Marriott? I believe a ground breaking was to take place at the mid to end of this month.

Well, I have no clue about the reception center, but Olive Garden is going up, which of course I'm sure you knew.

Isn't there another Sizzler going up in T.C.?

IDAHO FALLS NEEDS A RED ROBIN.

I heard we might get a Boston's and another Cold Stone in T.C.

I remeber there was to be a pizza place, another Bajio Grill, and a seafood restraunt. I wonder if it will be Red Lobster?

Speaking of restraunts we need: I agree with you about Red Robin, I would also like to see a Cracker Barrell. That's good eating!

If not this month, the Marriott will break ground early September. I cannot wait to see the cranes moving in.

Sunnyside Road exit will be complete Septemberish as well, then we can fill each other in on projects going on there. I do know that Rocky Mtn. Toyota is trying to build a car lot there. As far as any other news, I have none.

I got a glimpse of the bronze statue at TC. I didn't really see it per se, but, it is now covered up and it looks like a bald eagle. That's my guess. It also looks like they are reworking the waterfall a little bit. That would explain the road closed signs.

I noticed that too.

Does anyone know about the footbridge that is supposedly going to be built.

Also, what about that land south of Taylor's Crossing. It looks like some buildings are going to go up there or something.

I you look at the river there is an old sewer line that crosses. That is going to be where the footbridge will go.

Also about the Monroc development, it is being called Snake River Landing, and they are ready to construct a 26K+ sq. ft. building there.

Okay so we have:

1. Marriott Residence Inn- 13 Stories- 175 feet.
2. Sunnyside Exit
3. Hillcrest Auditorium (Supposedly to be as big as the Civic Auditorium)
4. The Villa's by the Hospital

That's all I can think of right now, I'm postive there are many more. Help me out, add to the list.

P.S. I saw that Kohl's is breaking ground west of Hillcrest.
