Liuna

No doubt a dumb question.

Why is a Union also a contractor?

In the UK Unions don't run companies, they just tell them off. So the fact that it's a union that seems to be more of a big building contractor seems a bit of a confusion to me.

Anyone able to tell me a little bit more here as there Wikipedia page just refers to it as a Union. But then the wikipedia page also makes it sound wholy american so I might be looking at the wrong thing

Here unions typically own large investments. Especially pension funds.

Also LIUNA is unions for mostly contractors.

Good question, one on par with "Why does the Ontario Teachers Union make it so hard for Hamilton to get an NHL franchise?"

Interesting, but odd though.

What if the contractors don't like how their employer is treating them and their employer is their Union, a conflict of interests surely?

Some would argue LIUNA is more of a syndicate than a union.

Well, when you have names like Joe Mancinelli and Tony DePasquale....

The waste management business is serious business. (so is property management)
