Yes, and a little "eye candy" in a highly traveled part of the city.

Looking forward to more updates (including progress photos).

I can't wait to see what this looks like as the glass goes up. Heading toward it from the MacKay right now it doesn't stand out at at all. I know that will change when the morning and early afternoon sun bounces off the panels.

Man, is it ever going to be awesome from the upper water facing condos. The noise from Ceres will fade with time and become part of the ambiance.

I've started driving the Bedford Highway to work and I note that the blank parking wall is certainly visible from the road when driving outbound. That being said, it's overshadowed by the much nicer features of this project, and overall I'm really excited for this one!

I wonder what the plans are, if any, to improve the entrance/exit to the Bedford Highway. It is already extremely treacherous there.

The plan, as I recall it, is that the main entrance to Icon Bay will be from roughly the existing access road that leads to the two automobile dealerships. Traffic signals will be installed to control the intersection.

This will likely lead to traffic slowdowns in that area of the Bedford Highway which may not, in the grand scheme of things, be a bad outcome.

Thanks for all the updates Dmajackson.

For comparison to Dmajackson's pictorial updates, here are some renderings from the Icon bay website: (source: http://iconbay.ca/gallery/)

Correct, we will be installing a traffic light to aid in the exit and approach to the property. We will do our best to minimize delay on the Bedford highway, especially at peak times. Otherwise, it will be a huge benefit to those living in the building and customers of the neighboring businesses.

I won't lie. That will take some getting used to once it's installed. I agree that it will be necessary once people have moved in. Do you know roughly when the lights will be installed?

Thanks to Dmajackson for all the updates on Icon Bay - http://urbanhalifax.tumblr.com/tagged/IconBayHalifax . This tower should look quite impressive from Bedford Highway since it is on an elevated site above the road.

The main tower is now up to 19 floors, so I think there are only 2 penthouse levels remaining before it is topped out.

I guess I expected more glass based on the renderings.

Dmajackson has some recent pictures - http://urbanhalifax.tumblr.com/tagged/IconBayHalifax.

This has really progressed quickly. I like the massing and exterior cladding.

The gorilla is an especially nice touch.
