The height hasn't been announced yet, but for a 450,000 sq ft tower, the 250-300 foot mark sounds about right. I'm sure the aerodynamics of the building can make it go above the 300+ foot mark.

Wasn't there at least 100,000 sq ft of air rights above the demolished building.

The video is excellent. Despite being a low building, will be a good fill. I loved the lighting at night, will combine with the BOA.

This will be a good back drop to the SW portion of Bryant Park, as the BoA Tower is to the NW portion.

Yeah both the building & the video are pretty slick. Anyone else notice that the "7" logo is referencing the concave notch in the design?

The building will be 450 ft.

It's both listed at the website and at NYC DOB.

AHHHH LOVE THE EVENING LIGHTING. It will totally bounce off of Bank of America Tower perfectly. They'll be like big brother and little brother. As if Bryant Park weren't already a remarkable location, this will help make it an unmatched urban space.

450 feet is FINE. I'm not complaining, but it seems a bit high for a 450k sq ft tower. Maybe the configuration is a bit different, and the aesthetics.

There are 700-foot towers that are only 250,000 square feet. And, as you can see from the rendering, 7 Bryant Park isn't particularly fat nor thin.

^ Yeah but those 700 footers are thinner and taller, thus most of the space is mechanical, and the tower is thin so it is equivalent to 250k sq ft. A 'normal' configuration for example is the ESB which is 1,250 ft tall and is over 2 million sq ft.

^ High floor to ceiling heights make more sense in residential buildings, but office buildings (in modern day) have had higher f-to-c heights, than compared to long ago.

This is a handsome tower! I'd certainly prefer it to be a bit taller but oh well.

Also, I think higher office f-to-c heights are certainly the new trend... I read interesting article on office space design in San Francisco that mentions this. Tech firms are locating in the trendy SOMA district (think warehouses, lofts, etc) while the traditional Financial District is losing out.

I imagine this one will get jumped on . . that is a very desirable area that's located in relatively respectable proximity to GCT and Penn.

The permits indicate the building will be 29 stories and 441' high, so at least we have an official height on this one!

Agreed, if I remember correctly Hines was always planning on building this without a major tenant. This is a perfect location for Chadbourne & Park who's deal at 1 WTC fell through because they didn't want to relocate downtown and their board strongly preferred a midtown location.
