I won't be downtown for a while. But that does look like an amazing and large crane.

And yes Telus takes 120k of 420k in Telus Sky, so nowhere near 2/3 of the building. As beautiful as it is, Westbank and their investors are going to lose their shirts on this one.

Cenovus will likely end up moving into a large chunk of their Brookfield Place obligation (though they certainly would back out of the deal if they could). They are going to leave a lot of empty real estate behind though, so while it's good news for Brookfield, its likely negative absorption for the city.

Once Cenovus leaves for Brookfield - watch the Bow drop to only 25 occupied floors for Encana (1400 employess) and 3-4 for Nexen.....strange how they committed to Brookfield when the Bow was initially spec'd out for them/EnCana as a whole back in the day before the split....

So little staging room for such a massive development. Going to be a traffic nightmare of trucks coming and going.

It looks like the staging platform has enough room for a cement truck to turn at the west side of it so as for bringing in materials they will probably get the timing of trucks coming and going down to a fine art on Yonge.

We will have to wait and see but this might be one of the least disruptive builds the city has seen in recent years.

Downtown Toronto marching North strong!! That is one of the most amazing cranes I've ever seen. can't wait to get downtown and see in person if it meets my internet expectations. Massive project, should set a precedent for future towers in this area.

side note: What's up with the cladding on One Bloor East? lol!

My guess is damage during construction waiting to be replaced.

Interesting, as Mizrahi is certainly spending a lot of money on full page colour ads in the Globe & Mail to push sales in The One.

That's not unusual for a developer in Toronto. And it makes sense he would do it in the globe. When he starts doing 3 am infomercials likes Harry Stinson then I might worry about.

If you go to the end where they take you through a 1 King West suite he shows off a suicide TV over the bathtub. Might as well be a toaster. At the 3:30 min mark.

There's a storey at Urbantoronto indicating this crane type has been adapted from a crane that is used to build power stations. That it was recently adapted for skyscraper construction in buildings like the World Trade Center and Hearst Tower in New York (Manhattan)
