Urban Orlando - Winter Park and Rollins College

The City of Winter Park is located on the northern border of the City of Orlando and is considered one of best urban downtown's in the Orlando area. The downtown is also located along the Sunrail Transit line. It is also home to Rollins College with over 3,000 students.

Thank you for this tour, it really opened my eyes to a side of Orlando that is charming and human-scaled...I keep telling myself I’ll visit here plus downtown, but every time I come I’m stuck in the whirling toilet bowls of Mickey, Harry, and Shamu!

That was very impressive!

Yeah, Winter Park is nice. Florida is a such frustrating place; it has a lot of totally charming places, that just get completely swallowed by up the neverending sprawl.

This a great little area of central Florida. I visited back in June 2013 and really liked it. Thanks for sharing!

My wife is a Rollins alum and we are usually in the area several times a year. Winter Park is one of a few gems in the area (Thornton Park, College Park) amidst a sea of blah.

We were at least looking at moving there a couple of years ago and these three neighborhoods are basically the only areas I would even look at houses in. Either that or living in Cocoa Beach and commuting in.

The good news on Orlando is growth and change is happening so fast that many more urban neighborhoods are quickly emerging as great places. Along with Winter Park, Thornton Park and College Park you now have SODO, Lake Eola/east downtown, Maitland, Delaney Park, Creative Village and Mills 50. Even downtown Winter Gardens has went through a massive transformation.

Winter Park's "Main Street" (Park Ave) is probably the most successful in the entire state. Although, nearby Winter Garden is giving it a run for its money.
