My god who engineers and approves these things? I spend a good amount of time in a number of cities in mainland China, and they have the full-building-led-tv thing down to a science.

This looks like a group project from a college class.

Ponce City Market has the old Sears emblem preserved, after being covered by 'City Hall East' for 30 years.

No offence, but that's some coping lol.

Also, my girlfriend works in the building, they took down the original Equitable sign completely. The joke was for a short time it said 'Quitable'.

8 West Midtown

I drove by BarTaco yeaterday and it appears that 8West has broken ground in West Midtown.

My fingers remain crossed for Midtown Union, Cousins 8th Street Tower, and 1125. I really expected Midtown Union to have shown some movement by now. That site, like the Opus site, appears to be cursed.

On another note, as expected, nothing has transpired at Underground Atlanta - other than WRS' initial proposal. Like others on this forum, I am not convinced that WRS will deliver. SAD for Downtown and SAD for my beloved ATL.

I feel better about the Gulch than I do about WRS or even Newport's aspirations. CIM has deep pockets, and they are already redeveloping the Norfolk Southern offices adjacent to the Gulch. In the next few years I believe we see towers rising above the Gulch!!

You will see Newport. I believe that GSU will redevelop Underground, eventually.

As I have stated several times, midtown is where it’s at, and where it will be. Downtown is merely an after thought these days. All these big plans and nothing happening, and won’t be for some time.

I went by on Friday and was surprised with all the activity occurring at the site. This one will be a lot of fun to watch rise

It's moving at lightspeed now. Dirt hauling trucks are lined up coming in and out all day long as they excavate.

Far cry from... Opus.

The foundation and parking deck permit was issued Thursday so it's probably full steam ahead. Was there ever a firm height listed anywhere for 1105?

I love that it’s taking the entire block. Should do wonders for continuing to activate the street in this area.

Yeah, with the Moxy hotel opening right across the corner in about a week for it's soft launch, the whole area will have a totally different vibe in a couple years. I hope that corner next to Foxtrot gets some bars/restaurants as well, it would make that low lying intersection a really hot late night scene for the neighborhood.

Is it just me or does it look like the crown of 1180 Peachtree got an upgrade? Last night the north facing side of it had sharper lighting and one corner was covered (presumably new signage).
