Yeah, it's red but it's not clownish red. I think so far even the red is broken up a bit, not overwhelming, but still a very bold statement. Lets see how it all turns out, but so far I'm liking what I'm seeing.

Btw to the person who said Loews looks like an amusement park---huh? In what way?

Absolutely this is great. I hope we will see some some more risk-taking (of the sort taken by developers that work with very talented designers that is) as a result....

Also, Hovey's projects look fantastic when they are going up......much more so than your typical concrete residential tower......has something to do with this very planar (planer?) quality as the columns are significantly recessed from the perimeter.......love watching his projects rise.....

..or the Holiday Tower, for those in the PC crowd who might be offended.

And kudos to Hovey for having some balls to go against the grain!

..or, for those in the PC crowd; some gender-neutral courage.

It's gonna sparkle and shimmer like a beautiful little girl! Honestly, it reminds me of all the gorgeous little barbie dolls and houses I had as a little gay boy!

^ one of the images of Chicago that became embedded in my memory since I was 4 was the striking contrast and color between the modern white, black and red skyscrapers plus the tan stone of older buildings against the blue sky.

Immediately when I got home I wanted Legos in those colors to make cities like Chicago.

^Indeed. Also, it will compliment the green glass residential tower two blocks East at Illinois and McClurg.

It's a perimeter safety shield. There are some that climb via hydraulics, but this system is crane-picked.

Do you know who does own the lots? I may be wrong, but each one looks large enough for a supertall!
