Do you know who does own the lots? I may be wrong, but each one looks large enough for a supertall!

It's a little more teal than I would have preferred. Unless it's just the lighting, I wish the building would made a more bold statement with a real green. Either way, a lot more bold of a building than most in Streeterville.

I love that red on the Grand side. Has an interesting Times Square vibe. Just needs some more neon!

That's cool - is it like that or is there any gestalt design type of thing happening with it?

Just a bunch of dots...Although I got a bit dizzy looking at it for a couple minutes.

It's a shame those 2 parcels north and south of NBC are going to waste. When I used to work at nbc, years ago, last time I was up on the Metropolis Holdings floor I saw a render of two art deco supertalls that would be on both sides of nbc connecting it into one large complex with a skywalk over water street. A mini Rockefeller if you will. Last I heard Mr. Mann (owner of all that land) isn't trying to move anything until Trib tower does their redevelopment of their parking lot below. Bummer.

^ Great cities don't form overnight.

I'm glad that certain areas take awhile to fill in, it leads to more architectural diversity and a more pleasant result. I wouldn't mind some mid-rise mixed in as well. The Gleacher Center is a nice counterpoint to all the highrises, but still fits in pretty well.

If the recession hadn't killed the 2nd/3rd phase of Cityfront Plaza, we would have gotten two generic DeStefano towers instead of the sleek, minimalist works of David Hovey art we have now.

---

It would be awesome if Hovey took over the little roundabout as well and did something equally abstract instead of that boring little fountain. Maybe an Ellsworth Kelly or Calder sculpture or something.

^ Couldn't agree more.

Although to be fair, the DeStefano building already there actually fronts the podium with active residential spaces. They deserve bonus points for that
