Request for Direction re: SC4 downloads

I'm running SimCity 4 on Parallels Desktop for Mac (running Windows XP) and I'm trying without much success to download extra (i.e. skyscraper) files, especially these BSC megaprops supposedly required to add 'scraper landmarks.

The only problem is that SC4 doesn't seem to play nice with automatic zip/unzip apps and manual extraction seems the way to go. I found this out the hard way when I tried using Parallel's built-in unzipper to add commercial building files that don't even have any dependencies (i.e. the megaprop I cited above).

Plus, I read that many contributers have made their files available thru installer apps; but the Simtropolis page's difficulty of navigation makes such things hard to find for me.

Do any of you know of a customizable unzipper app that suits my stated purposes? I hate looking into my C:/Maxis/Plugins (whatever) folder only to discover nothing in it.....
