The boardwalk is getting some play on Sunday Night Football. Sure beats those 6+ year old stock photos Fox was using a few weeks back

Yeah, SNF and also MNF both do a much better job than FOX when it comes to taking shots of the skyline. Without doubt.

^^Haha, glad you guys noticed that - I was losing my mind as well. Al Michaels has probably been to Philly hundreds of time at this point (national broadcaster for 35 yrs!) -- and he doesn't know it's Center City ??

But the NBC views of Center City were great. Comcast Center looked gigantic in one of the blimp views - wish I took a pic.

Gee, I wonder why. Who owns NBC, anyway?

Building Philly guy beat me - but AQ Rittenhouse went up in a hurry from just a month or so back. ... This is the good:

The bad - directly across the street:

And the forgotten - at least I forgot - moving in right down the street:

Banana Republic Factory at 1911 Chestnut...seemed like something was going on behind the wooden walls out front.

This post may be deleted, as it's pretty much off topic. (As far as buildings and/or skyscrapers).

Does anyone here have any idea of the new roadway being built next to I-95 on Richmond St.? My question is, How far up Richmond is the new road being constructed. It's up to Lehigh, and about ready to go underground at or around Cambria or Somerset St. (Did I miss anything in the news as far as Sugarhouse or another entity helping with the funding? Or is this totally federal or state funds?) Thanks
PS: If there are any renderings of the finished product, that would be great!

Awesome! I basically live about a block away from this. 7 Stories is some very nice density for this neighborhood. I'd love for this to set a precedent for bigger development along Washington Ave. You better believe I'm going to show up at the zoning meeting to voice my support for this one.

Are you talking about the work related to the I-95 project? There is a website dedicated to that project that breaks down each phase and offers maps showing work areas. There is also another project where the city is extending Delaware ave by 3/4 of a mile north using federal funds

Thanks 1487, It may be the latter one, where the city is extending Delaware Ave. I'm guessing the revitalization will extend to Allegheny Ave. perhaps to cut down on the already congested Richmond St. It might somehow tie in to the I-95 project, maybe just as far as a lane for the ramps.
Thanks again.

Interesting bit of news -

Nodding Head Brewpub just announced they are moving from Sansom St and will be relocating - but the new location has not been announced.

That place was always busy every time I've ever been there... are rents getting too high in the Walnut-Sansom-Chestnut/Rittenhouse area for places like Nodding Head? Or maybe they just want to expand production and need a bigger place... hopefully the latter.

Curious anyone's thoughts??

^^To answer my own question, ... per Twitter - Nodding Head said, "Perhaps both. It's time."

I think rents are higher on Sansom than Chestnut (but could be wrong on that). There is an open space on the 1500 block of Chestnut that is of good size and has a liquor license application up. Would be nice to see it go there. Not sure if the space is bigger than their current digs, though.

I like the space but it's kinda tucked away. Maybe they want more of a retail presence to get people walking by.

They are certainly taking their time on that 1100 chestnut demo. Guess its necessary to preserve the buildings on either side.

First time posting so hopefully this the right thread, but a nice historical building that has sat empty for nearly 20 years at Broad and Jefferson appears to have new life. It is completely landscaped, and the windows which were once covered is exposed, along with heaps of debris being removed out the back

I found an article from the daily news from 1993 about a fire that injured 5 people:
http://articles.philly.com/1993-07-0...ay-care-center

The Naked Philly blog also did a bit of research on the history:
http://www.ocfrealty.com/naked-phill...road-jefferson

It is nice to see more and more of Broad Street slowly get rebuilt.
