Amazing shots there must be some of the coolest contructions shots taken ever looks stunning

and the tower is insanely cool and beautiful

i kinda begin to wonder if Tokyo will do like Shanghai and Guangzhou and several other asian cities did and build skyscraper close to that height in a few years.

and the thing that they built it way out of the core is very intresting

Doesn't look much higher than when I saw it in mid Sept. How many more meters to go?

The tower itself is as high as it will get now (497m), the spire will now be put in to place to raise it to 634m.

Much more cladding is up on the first observation level now

That tower is damn tall right now. I think the new TV towers like that one or Canton Tower look much better than the old ones like CN-Tower, Ostankino Tower or Berlin's TV Tower.

wow, watching this rise is amazing. the japanese sure take precautions on every level, look at how thick the metal work on those cranes are! they make the rest look wimpy! And is that a cantilevered building I see next to the Skytree?

Does Japan have any environmental ratings (LEED) for buildings?

Yep! Japan's version of LEED is called CASBEE. Tokyo Sky Tree has been CASBEE certified, as has most every building since the mid-80's.

Remember the Kyoto protocol was in Japan lol CASBEE is quite complicated, as is fitting for Japan.

And yes that office building is part of the Tokyo Sky Tree development. It is quite large (160m), but, quite small compared to Tokyo Sky Tree

Do you think the Kyoto agreement is enforced more in Japan since it was signed there?? Wonderful pictures by the way - the thing I like about Tokyo is that it has never got involved in building the skyscraper as tall as you can to get the city noticed but still has one hell of a collection.

No, Japan has (ironically) failed to meet almost every requirement under the Kyoto Protocol (which isn't uncommon).

However "eco" as it's called in Japan is in the mindset of all of the people, companies, government, etc.

It seems to be more than the popular trend of the moment

wow. almost time for the upper section and then they raise the antenna and it will be done!

seems like the office building is going up at a slower rate than skytower is?

does anyone know what is the expected completion date?

Nope, if you look closely, you'll see that she's in front of that window. And you can see her feet apparently on the tracks...
Odd...Maybe there's a platform up there?
I mean, people don't usually commit suicide holding their purse...
