Is Elephant and Castle a chain? I remember going there last time I was in Toronto, but I don't think it was that location.

If there's one thing I don't really like, its that 'notch'.
I'd rather the 2nd floor extended over the notch on the ground level. Really, how much does having the 2nd floor recessed like that open up the area?

Lord knows, Yonge Street needs all the help it can get. 80% of Yonge is an absolute disaster. I wish they'd tear out that nasty 70s addition to College Park and build up the southeast corner to match the north east corner. College Park will likely never be finished as it was intended, but we could at least have one side of street frontage true to its vision. Look how beautiful College Park is. The northeast corner finished while only the first floor of the southeast corner was completed.

I wonder if on any normal day-- if it will be cold up on top of the roof? (You know.. Cause of the altitude).

We have 3 in Chicago. They have beers you rarely see at other restaurants/pubs, and that's saying something because Chicago has become a heckuva craft beer kind of town. They're also great for gathering to watch World Cup matches because lord knows the average bar is showing baseball and auto racing in the summer.

There's several in Toronto. You're probably thinking of the one on King St W.

What's cool, is that it's going to dominate it's immediate area when it's only at 20 floors...

I'm not convinced that's cool considering it's a residential tower by a 3rd rate architect. The podium turn out okay. I'm certainly not losing my load over it like so many others though. It's bland and sterile and while I agee Yonge needs help, this is far from the direction it should be taking.

What direction should it be going? And how can you judge a building that's less then 1/7th of the way complete.

i certainly understand what you are saying; however, you certainly could have done much worse than aura on that property. if anything you should be overwhelmingly thankfull that a tower of that magnitude is actualy being built there and not anouther failed fully shitty proposal to deal with for the next 10 or more years. only to get yet anouther failed shitty proposal that again fails. and so on. thank god that this project is what it is, where it is, when it is.

Same residential floor on the south side. These ones clearly show the kind of cladding they are using.

What exactly is this material supposed to be?? Some one earlier mentioned granite, but I'm not yet convinced that it is. From a few of the closeup shots of neighbouring panels, the grains in the cladding look more repetitive than I would have expected from natural material.

South west and west facades so far.
