Wow, looks like we have some nice visible progress on this one. I just found out that my neighbor is very good friends with the guy building this, so if you have any questions, perhaps I could do some sleuthing for you.

Great. I have a question. Can you find out an approximate timeline for progress on this building? It seems to be taking a long time to get out of the gates.

It took a long time to get started...but look at the photos from March 8th and today's! Wow...it seems to be moving at a great clip now.

^I actually used to be friends with the developer too. In fact, we played on the same team in a pool league, and he sold me my first condo in the mid-nineties (he lived in that building too). I remember him telling me and my ex-wife when he bought his first three flat and how excited he was. We lost touch after I got divorced, as he was better friends with my ex than with me (I actually met him through her). I ran into him on the street a couple of years ago, right after I heard about this development...pretty funny. As another funny aside, he was (and probably still is) very good friends with one of the two co-founders of @properties, back when that guy was just a real estate agent starting out (who was also an acquaintance of mine back in those days).

I'm very pleased to see this building making solid progress. I love the design of this one, and I think it'll make an incredible addition to the gold coast skyline. That section of downtown seems to be a pretty hot commodity lately with several substantial towers going up / proposed.

trvlr70 - If everything goes smoothly it's on track for a late 2008 completion.

i_am_hydrogen - Based on your photo timestamps, it looks like I missed you by only a few minutes.

I think this is just another case of inexperience. I don't think we have to worry about financing with this one though.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know what the story is with the beams on the core, but both sites have what looks like the same thing going on.
