One Light Illustration

https://36.media.tumblr.com/6d7612d9...kapvo1_540.png

The building page is closed for One Light, but we don't have an illustration for the building so I took the liberty to try and make one. Sorry if it's bad! Haha

I just read on Wikipedia that KC just opened up their new light rail line two days ago. The cars look pretty sick. Congrats.

Thank you. I was able to ride it on Friday during the grand opening. Around 30,000 people rode it this weekend. The following is a photo I took this past Saturday.

They have four different cars. Hopefully, it won't be too long before they expand it down to Westport and the Plaza.

Some good news!

Convention hotel developers say they have loan agreement, don’t need KC Council extension
Quote:

In a good day for a proposed convention hotel in downtown Kansas City, its developers say they’ve obtained commitments for a loan and are under contract to purchase land for the project.

According to KC Hotel Developers LLC and City Manager Troy Schulte, during a meeting Monday the developers showed Schulte a term sheet for a $110 million construction loan from an undisclosed lender. A term sheet spells out the conditions upon which a bank will extend credit.

13-story apartment tower proposed for west of Country Club Plaza
Quote:
A 13-story, 257-unit apartment complex has earned an important green light for a prominent site at 47th Street and Roanoke Parkway, just west of the Country Club Plaza.

The Kansas City Plan Commission on Tuesday approved the multifamily development plan from property owner Block Real Estate Services LLC.

Looks like this thing is here. 'Bout time they put something there.

I agree it *is* a nice, well-kept piece of greenery, but it's not a city park or anything so it was bound to be developed.

Supposedly the design is still being tweaked, so look for more changes before construction, but unfortunately the original height is likely gone forever on this project.

Agreed, it looks like a hospital right next to an award winning concert hall and future home of the UMKC school of performing arts. They should just rename it they Hyatt Medical Center.

I'm still waiting to see a rendering of it from the other side before I pass final judgement.
