OMG, I think I used to live where that hole is now. Is 6556 Malborough gone?

Wrong side of the street and two buildings down. 6556 is across from Lobley park.

6556, 6566 and 6580 are owned now by 1075367 B.C. Ltd

The information I have off-hand is that the owner of Dogwood Estates (behind the Vancity) "will never sell at any price". There is an essentially abandoned lot on Burlington across the lane from it. One of the other low-rises on Burlington doesn't want to sell either, so they're "holding back" any potential redevelopments.

They all say that.

Until some developer comes in with some stupid crazy offer (completely out-sized from the actual market value) and their property taxes dictate otherwise.

Their current stance is only to guarantee that if they eventually do sell, they'll make out like gangbusters winning the lottery.

My image from today. The retaining walls for what I was told is P4 is pretty much done now.

I really hope they 'make out like gangbusters". He was the nicest landlord and he really seemed to work hard on his properties. I only have the nicest of things to say about him.

Talked to someone on site earlier this week, they're expecting to be at ground level around February.

Seems to be right about on schedule. (to be at or around ground level by February).

Another 3-4 months for that podium and them zooming up the tower itself.

Incidentally, on the lot next door (south) also owned by Polygon, the buildings on that lot have given notice to the tenants that they will probably be evacuated for redevelopment from around summer (in 5-6 months time).

I believe that tower will be called Vittorio, if I remember correctly.

The lot further south (Imperial by Amacon) has already demolished all the buildings on the lot, more or less, and excavation digging for the foundation should start soon (if it hasn't already)

What will be exciting is when they start pouring/building out the floor plates with the varying curved balconies from floor-to-floor. I'm sure the balcony glass (when they eventually get there) will be a pain in the ass and slow things down during finishing time, considering each panel of glass will likely have to be made custom per floor to fit the giant leaf petal design.

I'm still skeptical about the balcony glass design. As a future resident, it will be'interesting' to see my balcony go from a translucent white in some sections to varying shades of green .
