The Perennial: Office tower will not move forward until a tenant is signed, but the hotel/apartment tower plans to break ground the 2Q or 3Q.

Preservationists? Houston? Haha!!!

What I don't get is that sunk a bunch of money into that buildng a few years ago doing some structural work on the entire exterior. It is a shame. My guess is that it could not compete with rents with the other buildings but what a great residential it would make.

Is the hotel the cool looking structure in the middle of the photo?

Structure as in the tower? Yes. The hotel is on the lower half, apartments on the upper.

No oil money involved in the redevelopment. Shorenstein is real estate only and they're from San Francisco. If anything, it's Facebook dollars.

The tower is growing on me a little, but it's still a big disappointment from the previous design. I still think it will be great for downtown.
