WOW. You have made me very homesick. Excellent job, especially in terms of capturing streetlife/people. How did you find it taking photos of people in the DTES? It's rare to see these kind of close ups in that neighbourhood.

Great pictures! I like that Downtown Library or whatever it is, that looks like the Coliseum. It looks like there's a lot of other great buildings there. Interesting how there's so many old hotels and signs; I didn't expect to see an entire district of them.

What does DTES stand for?

Flar goes west. Great tour. I was just thinking about Vancouver today for some reason. Looking forward to Part II.

I won't speak for Flar, but I took a bunch of photos in the area a few years back. I was focusing on buildings more than people, and tried to project that by looking up at the buildings as I shot. No one bothered me.

It's both a fascinating and very sad area.

It's amazing the difference a couple blocks make in Vancouver. Every time I go I'm surprised that gentrification hasn't got hold of the DTES - it really does have great bones.

Thanks for the tour. Looking forward to more.

Oh, it has. The DTES has changed considerably in the past 10 years. In another 5 years, it won't be recognizable.

So, Vancouver gets the flar treatment. Lucky us! And to think, we're getting a part 2. Happy days.

Nice set. The street scenes of people selling stuff on the sidewalk reminds me of New York in the '80s.

Only the partial flar treatment, I had just five hours to look around.

Yeah they didn't like it. I guess there's some unwritten rule about photography down there, but whatever. It's a public place.

Great phototour, flar! Thanks for sharing.

Vancouver looks very, very pretty. I love the mountains so near and Vancouver´s Chinatown. Vancouver looks a modern and cosmopolitan city.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain!

I knew Vancouver would be awesome, but it exceeded my expectations.

I thought maybe it would be too modern, but the urban fabric is very rich and diverse, and extends much further than I thought. I didn't even get to all the areas I wanted to.
