Construction continues on L Tower condos in downtown Toronto

Work is moving upwards on the L Tower condominium project on Front Street in Toronto, Ont.

Dominus Construction Group Ltd. is construction manager for the 57-storey, 600-suite project with a fitness centre, spa, indoor pool and adjacent underground parking. The owners are Castlepoint Development Corp./Fernbrook Homes/Cityzen Development Corp. and completion has been scheduled for the end of 2012.

The project was designed by Studio Daniel Libeskind/IBI Group Page & Steele Inc. and the interior designer is Munge Leung. Consultants are: Jablonsky Ast & Partners (structural); Smith and Andersen Consulting Engineers (mechanical/electrical); HGC Engineering (acoustics); and Isherwood Geostructural Engineers. Subtrades include: GFL (excavation); Deep Foundations Contractors Inc. (shoring/caissons); Salit Steel Ltd. (rebar); Premform Ltd. (formwork); Innocon Inc. (concrete); Primo Mechanical; and Mayfair Electric Ltd.

Considering it's on Yonge Street, its location actually makes it a bit hard to track the construction progress.

However, because it's at ground level and has no extensive podium design, it will rise fast, and be pretty easy to photograph from other vantage points once it gets high enough into the air.

Turntable being constructed?

Looks about 6 meters or more above ground level.

Looking at the size of the lot, it looks like this one will rival One King West in the "Pencil-like Thinness" category.

You are correct, I thought this was going to be a more substainstal tower. Now I see this is gonna be a tiny little tower.
