I was downtown and maybe it was the lighting but Hotel 1000 looks far more blue than I was expecting. I like it though. I like all this.

You are correct, but hopefully things will be heating up soon for Seattle. I found a First Hill site that I thought was dead, now with a project rendering sign. But it's just ~15-levels and to me is only infill design-wise.

I would put 8th & Madison in the running for "best" but it will only be 16-levels. I was thinking highrises. Cristalla i great with the glass and the preserved facade at the base, but peters out at the top. I'm thinking of things that would jump out and dazzle. Maybe 6th and Wall (hope that it gets built) will do that.

Seneca Towers
Seattle, Washington
Views from everywhere. | The Seneca Towers project is located at the south edge of Freeway Park, across from the Washington State Convention Center. The site is large and a single tower wouldn’t make the best use of the site. Creating two towers on the site was an option, but it would infringe on views of the inside residential units, each tower blocking out the views from the other. The design solution was to build one tower shorter than the other with a glass view into the inner courtyard of the site. The larger tower is 24 stories and the shorter one is 7 stories.

The Boylston looks like a cool building, except for the podium. I don't like the yellow.

I agree. Looks like an east-coasty brick and glass tower glued to a stucco med/Tuscan podium. Sorta wierd.

Here's another rendering

In addition to Jiminy's edit for 5th and Madison, which has very recently started site work, 8th and Olive has also started site work this week, so I edited his post on the 1st page to make it "under construction."

5th & Madison even meets the stringest SSP/SSC definition of "underway". They're already adding to the structure under the existing pad.

King County is asking $10.1 million for the Qwest Field north lot, where it wants a developer to build at least 400 housing units and retail, according to a request for proposals made public on Tuesday.

Any subscribers around who can post the full story?

I was down there a few days ago and it looks like they're just putting up a sign. A check of the DPD database shows that the MUP has been issued but the first phase of the building permit is still in process.

It would be cool if it got started this summer. I'm looking forward to seeing Midtown go up.

I walke by the Mosler lofts site and they're still just digging the hole and it isn't deep. Why taking so long? It isn't all that large of a site.

I edited Jiminy's post on the first page to reflect some new or better renderings, and to put some renderings that weren't there before.

^How dare you use your mod powers to interfere with Jiminy's artistic posting integrity--er--I mean, thanks, I'll go check it out after I finish posting this.
