Kind of odd to see the Hawks trading Brouwer to the Caps for a pick. Do they just actually want no grit at all?

Not even 24 hours after re-signing him for 3 years!

And Brian Campbell for some odd reason waived his NTC to go to Florida. Big $7 million cap relief for the Hawks...

^^ Yeah I posted that a page back, Bruns probably didn't want to stay in Minny, asking for 6.5million apparently, and his agent did represent Gaborik and Boogard and apparently he(agent) doesn't like Minny.

I like the Minny fans booing the Canucks, lol.

Regehr has waived his NTC, he's being shipped to Buffalo with Kotalik. Holy hell, someone wanted Kotalik?!

Maybe someone will want Stajan! Or Hagman! Who needs to spend money just to be at the cap basement

But still weird for Hawks to do that, he might be overpriced but Soupy is a great PMD.

Olesz is high enough salary that they still have to spend. I bet they'd really enjoy a Matt Stajan down there!

They only have 9(!) players signed at the moment. And are $26 million from the floor.

Kotalik gone. Wow. I love Regher and am sad to see him go, but to be honest - if it means getting rid of one of the useless three, I don't much care what we get back. We're more than deep on D and we seriously need to dump Sutter's shitty legacy in order to progress this team.

Stajan and Hagman, while completely useless, at least showed moments of talent. Kotalik was the most completely pointless player I've ever watched.

Can't believe some geniuses here actually saying value is fair given Kotalik's bad contract. There's one year left on that contract at $3MM. No effin way do you trade Reg for essentially nothing for one year cap space. Any GM pulling the trigger on that deal is either incompetent or just plain stupid.

If the Sabres took Stajan's three years at $3.50MM, you at least an agruement. To get nothing for your best Dman for one year of salary flexibility would be horrible asset management. Only can hope and pray the Mckenzie report is inaccurate.

IMO, Burke did a pretty good job with the pieces he had to work with. JML is a good puck mover and offensive defenceman. At the end of the day, it was Kaberle for Liles, Colborne, and Biggs. A good overall deal if you ask me. Biggs looks like another promising prospect for the Leafs, a physical power forward (comparing himself to Lucic).
