Calgary shot is from summer of 1953 (according to the accompanying CBC article).

It's going to be long time before Parliament Hill looks like that again. It's been under some sort of restoration for years amd will continue to be for years to come.

Love that photo of Ottawa. The rail yard and the prison stand out...and just a stone's throw from the university - very handy.

Griffintown has come a long way since then. It's hard a to believe there was a huge wasteland abutting the downtown core back then.

I never realized that Le 1000 de la Gauchetière was built at the same time as 1250 René-Lévesque. For some reason I thought it was at least a decade older.

The difference between those ~1890 photos of Quebec City and Calgary (the proverbial two horse town at that time) is stunning. A lot can change in ~125 years.
