I gotta say, I know I shouldn't like the color of the glass on this tower, but I really do. The whole thing has a Soviet retro-futuristic quality that I find strangely appealing.

I wish the bright red City Hall and City Duma were still being built.

I agree, except I have no shame in liking the glass!

Although the Duma building would block so much of Mercury City.

Saw this pic in another Moscow thread.

It would look so much better with a blue/silver fecade.

What is that? 0_0
That design would be nearly 2000ft if built...

The tall was was called Moscow Tower and yes it was proposed at 2,000 ft. Sadly it did not make the cut.

Russia Tower

The foundations are finished but nobody's willing to start the main part. There's still a chance...

I really love the glass on this building. That coupled with the angular lines... It looks straight out of the game Mirror's Edge. I'm honestly jealous of Moscow for getting that tower! I'd love to see some of that glass show up over here in NYC. It's such a sharp contrast to the blues / greens of most towers lately.

It looked really awesome in the new Die Hard movie too. I'm loving the gold glass.

Any recent updates/photos on this grand, copper clad hunk of Russian awesomeness? Seems to have been a few months since we've seen anything. I'm pretty sure it topped out some time ago... but has the cladding been finished? New photos would be fantastic!

Anyway, is there any word on tenants for this building? Or is Russia like China and the middle east who just don't worry about silly things like that?
imo any of these towers is better than the shard. especially this one. sometimes outlandish works wonders. as proof look no farther than this very skyscraper.

Although it's not visible in this picture, the very bottom venting row has been painted orange to match the glass. I wonder if they'll do the same for the rest of the vents?

AWESOME!! Wow!... love this building... super-love the glass color... just awesome. Very distinct and yes, challenging to look at, but not in that asymmetrical, artsy-fartsy fashion that turds like The Shard try to aspire to. This supertall is as Russian as you can get... bold, brash and in your face.

Thanks for the update ThatOneGuy!!

No problem.
The very bottom black venting row has been painted orange to match the glass...maybe they will do the same with the rest of them. (I hope so, anyway, the black is hideous.)

This building is my new favorite. Looks like it could be a supervillain's HQ or something along those lines =D
