(somewhat amusingly, of the three major federal party leaders, Trudeau is only the second most often ridiculously dressed by my standards; Singh takes the top spot with "100% of the time".)

BTW, I'm not very contrarian.I rarely am. Sometimes I'll play devil's advocate but then I'll usually mention it. Thing is, few things are all black or white so whenever we have ideological "extremists" on this forum, whether they're of the all white or all black variety, my position will be to disagree, but that doesn't mean I don't have coherent and unchanging points of view and yardsticks to base my opinions on.

For example,

SSPer #1: "We must shut down the tarsands permanently and completely ASAP!"
lio45: "I disagree"

SSPer #2: "Everyone should shut up and not interfere with all the new pipelines we're going to build in their backyards while we ramp up oil production to maximum possible levels, everything else be damned"

SSPer #3: "What a contrarian you are!"

Ha fucking ha! FTR your example you gave is actually reasonable and I always have found you have a level head on that issue. When it comes to Trump or Trudeau or virtually anything else though you insist on nitpicking things to ridiculous extremes to try and justify whatever argument you are making. And you will virtually always take the opposing side to prevailing norms. You would argue the sky is black because technically it is at night.

One would like to meet the over-caffeinated hack in Scheer's office who put it out to the media that Scheer's visit to London was to lay the groundwork for a Cda-UK free trade agreement! The pants may be short, but the ambition is tall. Or should that be "tall tale".
