There was never a redesign, this is how the antenna has always looked under the radome.

I take it that's a picture of Durst, the dirtbag. He even has the FACE of an arrogant dim-witted asshole! I, too, am holding out faith and hope in Childs.

I know that folks on here aren't concerned with the removal of the radome. I have been trying to come up with an analogy of what's going on here, and I think I have one.

When they built the Capitol, did they suddenly redesign the dome at the last minute and decide to remove the detailing of the domed structure leaving its skeletal structure exposed in order to cut costs and speed up construction? I believe that would be the equivalent to what's going on now...

I don't buy any of what Durst is saying. He's more full of shit than a manure spreader. Hey, maybe when he's ran the hell out of the real estate business for this quantum fiasco, maybe he can get a job in that field! People could consult him for manure spreading services!!!

Premiering Sunday,May 20th on National Geographic Channel
8:00 P.M. E.S.T.

"The Empire State Building is an American icon. It is perhaps the most recognizable building in the world. It is a cultural landmark, an amazing accomplishment, and a metaphor for the American dream. Now, as the Empire State Building nears its 80th anniversary, a new building is rising above Manhattan to join it in defining the New York skyline: Tower One of the World Trade Center. This building, which sits just next to the footprints of the fallen Twin Towers, will also have a strong emotional symbolism for Americans. Empire tells the fascinating story behind these two steel giants. How has skyscraper construction changed in 81 years? How has it remained the same? And who are the men and women responsible for bringing these engineering masterpieces to life?"

Hmmm, looks interesting, I'll probably watch it. The Empire State Building already passed its 80th Anniversary so they must have started making this program last year.

I really love that last pic NY GUY. 4 WTC looks awesome from that angle. I know i'm being selfish because we don't know when 3 wtc will be completed or if 2 wtc will ever get built to completion, but it would've been nice to add an extra 300 feet to 4 WTC and have things kind of feel complete in a way. When the site gets done like it should, I feel the WTC site will be better than ever. But for a lot of people to heal, having two new beautiful supertalls back up, would've been nice for sure. It's a great time to enjoy what we have.

I understand that he wants to save money, but this is not the project to do that on. The developers should go all out with this. This new building is extremely important to the nation and to all the victims families I hope he changes his mind about the spire or he's going to get shit for the rest of his life about what he did with the spire on the new world trade center

You know what would be interesting tho? Tower 2 is only going to be a few floors tall as of late, isn't it? Suppose the rest of the building is redesigned to be more of a twin to Tower One. I'm sure when that happens Doug Durst will have already flown...

In reality tho, I would like to see Tower 2 be built at some point. That is a rather cool design and would look awesome next to One World Trade.
