Arrow MIDTOWN | Society Atlanta (formerly Eviva) | 811 Peachtree Street

It seems that Eviva is now imminent. (finally!)

Per the Curbed article, Integral will make some sort of announcement on the project on Friday. I assume it will be a ceremonial groundbreaking.

What I really love about Eviva is that it is a bit a departure from the norm for residential towers we have been getting both architecturally and in it's massing.

But equally as exciting is the opportunity to "connect the dots" in the urban fabric along Peachtree Street. Infill on Peachtree in the heart of Midtown is proving to be rather difficult. You have the long dormant Dewberry lot, 1125 Peachtree that appears to be targeted for a signature office /mixed-use development, the retail strip at 8th, the FDA building and who knows if they will ever be motivated to relocate. So replacing this parking lot with a gorgeous building is huge IMO.

A long time ago I think I remember that church owned land at 4th and peachtree being targeted for development. I wonder if that idea will resurface any time soon? Would also be amazing if the lot at 3rd and peachtree across from lilli was developed and what ever happened to that hotel proposal at peachtree and ponce? Aside from the lots already spoken for these seem to the the biggest potential sites for future development.

I think the review committee asked the Ptree and Ponce hotel developer to re-design with a better sense of place and context - very glad that they did so. I haven't heard anything about that 4th street project. It's a prime spot though isnt it? I've always heard there are some construction limitations on the peachtree lot across from Lilli (large underground storm water basin?), but I've never really known for sure.

Looks like they did a little value engineering on the 16 story portion of it... But still looks nice IMO.

Again, not tall enough to make a huge impact on the skyline.

It would have to be relatively tall to really stand out in that location. To me, it's far more important how it impacts the density of that rapidly developing stretch of P'tree, consuming yet another surface parking lot. And, it will make a big statement in that way, as well as standing out from all others in its design. That is, if it ever gets built. So much else has sprung up in Midtown since this project was first announced. The latest example would be Hanover @ 7th. I'm hoping, especially after this latest step they've taken, but it's still not a groundbreaking.

It won't necessarily stand out in the skyline but I do think it will have an impact simply because there is not a lot of height in that part of Midtown. If nothing else it will make the skyline more full.

Crickets ... ... ... ...

I think we can safely say this is not "Arriving Early 2018".

I noticed that, as of January 20, 2017, Loopnet.com says the 22,000 sq ft retail space is off the market. Hopefully, this means they signed a tenant. But, this being Eviva, I am not getting my hopes up.

I thought the same this weekend when I walked by there. This definitely won't be arriving by then. With it being an apartment project, I don't really understand why they felt the need to put up a banner before they even break ground.

If this were Reddit I would give you gold, sir. I thought "What could be happening with Eviva?" and it's the damn fence falling down. The city should force them to repair or remove it--pretty sure that type of fence is a zoning violation anyway.

It's my fault it's not getting built as it was my favorite out of everything proposed. I'm cursed...

Mine too. So I should take my share of the blame.

Why were they hyping it so hard in November if they weren't going to move forward?
