I saw that last night. I took some photos and will be putting them up later on tonight.

I also got some photo's of the JUMP project to post as well.

Photos coming soon, sorry.

Quick question though, Who is paying for the Zion's bank building? Where is the funding coming from and who will "own" the building after it's complete? Sorry if appears to be a dumb question.

i presumed that Zion's was the owner and primary investor in the project.

it will be good to see the crane go up soon. even if steel doesn't rise for a few months, the crane will help visualize where this tower will fit in the skyline from various angles.

Zions Bank is the major tenant and is funding the project, however The Gardner Company is the owner of the building.

I was by the hole this morning and had my camera with me.

That's about all there is to currently see; what appears to be ground work.
Here are some extra shots of adjacent views from where the tower will rise.

a tree has a dead branch that needs pruned.

enjoy some beef tongue with your view of the hole. it is good, I've tried and liked.

and some talented Saturday Market musicians. directly across 8th St from the hole.

the rear view of historic architectural detail on the top of the Alexander Building, built in 1924, where Zions Bank is currently located and on the same block the new tower will be built.

Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains.-Hermann Hesse

Thanks for taking the time to post some pics. Zions is definitely going to be in good company and vibrancy down on 8th.

I know it's been dead for a few weeks now. It sucks! But, as soon as the crane is erected things will be moving real fast on the construction site, and the thread here on SSP. and also Wednesday during Alive after 5 I took a couple pictures of 8TH and Main that i'll upload tomorrow.

Huge Amounts of Concrete to be Poured Into Boise Hole This Weekend

Posted by George Prentice on Fri, Aug 17, 2012 at 9:47 AM

A key event in the filling of the Boise Hole will occur this weekend—but most of it will happen while the city sleeps.

More than 1,000 cubic yards of concrete will be poured into the hole this weekend, an integral step in Engineered Structures Inc.'s massive construction project, which will eventually rise to the Eighth and Main tower, expected to be the highest structure in Idaho.

Hopefully after this weekend one of our photographers posts an update for us. As of today it is still a hole as seen in the photos above.

I've seen ESI signs down here in SoCal. They must be doing well.
