Here you guys go, some unedited pics taken in the 100 kph gusts. Don't mind the blurry lights in 2 of the photos as those will be eventually fixed. I didn't have night equipment or my tripod handy so these shots were shot on a 50 prime wide open with slow shutter speed using my vehicles mirror as a monopod:

I was out at our lot at Pigeon lake last night, we got some wind & a bit of hail but nothing like what happened in the city.

Here's just some of the damage to the beautiful trees in the north central area of Alberta Ave & Parkdale

At least it looks like none toppled onto the houses. So are they going to be replaced soon with more mature trees do you think?

That's crazy - reminds me a few years ago of the damage done by Hurricane Juan in Halifax.

That's pretty much how the trails and parks are looking right now.

^ I can imagine. I'll be out for a tour on my bike tomorrow. I'm sure many parts of the city were hit hard.

It's funny, last night I got texts from a half a dozen friends in the city asking if we were okay our in our tornado magnets out by the lake. It was pretty calm 50 k's south of the city, but we took a drive up to the top of the road and you could see what was happening to the north. Looked pretty nasty.

spent most of the last few days working and sleeping (trying to get the course back into playable shape for one of our club tourneys this weekend)
but I thought some of you might be interested in a few of the better shots I took of Highlands Golf Course (we had significant damage to our course)

forgive the quality... camera phone >.<

Such a shame to lose all those beautiful trees. Everywhere I drive I see trees damaged or blown over all together.

I always wondered what would happen if a hurricane force winds hit Edmonton

I have less questions now.

Could you imagine the destruction of having sustained this type of wind for several hours??

I don't even want to think about that...i just hope that the trees that were blown down get replaced promptly.

I bet along the Gulf Coast there are very few mature trees like the ones here in the city.
