Looks like they might be getting near deep enough for two underground parking levels on the west edge of the site. Get the rest of the site that deep and then start building up.

WTF happened to the angled crowns???
I thought the purpose of their "original" vaunted design was to circumnavigate the flat rooftop/helipad clusterfuck.

What are those other gray towers? One looks taller than AON, and they still have the old Wilshire Grand. It also looks like the west side of town is on the east side? Weird rendering, did someone in China who's never been to LA design that and cut and paste it from random photos?

Kudos for the absolutely bizarre trimdown of Aon and the CGI'd blank block (technological term?) towers. I barely noticed the first indignity whilst in the throes of my anger at *what I saw at first.

An influx of Chinese capital will bring more towers. This is one of many that are being worked on by Chinese developers. Well, for one, they know how to get stuff done and quickly too.

I could be wrong, but they appear to be temporary shoring beams that will go up in the corners, keeping the shoring walls secure while they build out the underground layers. If you look in the northwest corner, there are two in place now, and there's a crane in the web cam today in the southwest corner that is just out of frame that may be installing some more.

Just an educated guess.

That's to secure temporarily secure the shoring beams in place, and not technically part of the foundation. The foundation will have a lot of rebar down there. My guess is that they'll start building the foundation over this concrete pad, then start cutting away the beams once the underground levels start going up.

In addition to phase one, which will bring a 38-story condominium building and a 19-story hotel to the 6.33-acre parcel along Francisco and Eighth streets, the company is building two additional towers, at 54 and 40 stories tall. I really doubt that. They will not change their design anymore.
That are not smal changes, they would have to include other safety features.

Did Greenland put this project on hold or something? There's been practically zero work in the last two weeks, and they even hauled away a couple of the earth movers the other day.
