Question Decisions, Decisions

Weirdest request I've ever posted, but here goes.

I need some help here. I've got a task. I've got someone asking me for some 8x10 images for their new cabin. They want 10 or 12 of my favourite photos I've taken over the years. 10 or 12 is tough. I think my first go through the images yielded about 200. Next round got to about 70. Got down to 50 and then it started getting really tough. I've made some choices based on wanting at least some images to have meaning to them as well, but I'm stuck around 25 now. My biggest problem is I don't usually work in the 8x10 ratio, but 4x6 so it was a struggle cropping and composing things back to where I was happy with them and some images just plain didn't really work in 8x10.

So you get to help me out making the final decision. Vote for as many images as you want knowing what they are for. There's a few in here that I'm picking whether they show up in the top twelve or not, but you could sway my opinion on them and help me with the others.

They are all numbered. Oh, the person wanting the images is my mother-in-law.

I kid, my inlaws are fabulous people.

1 - Forest Park, St. Louis, MO. A morning walk in the park in the autumn.

2 - Bed and Breakfast, Hermann, MO. We stayed with them here when they came to visit us during the autumn.

3 - Hermann, MO. Sitting on the front porch of the Bed and Breakfast in number 2.

4 - Jefferson National Memorial, St. Louis,MO. Most people know the arch, but the whole grounds has some really hidden special places.

5 - St. Louis, MO. Contrast. Planting daffodils along the interstate was/is a beautification project in St. Louis. The orange semi was just good timing.

6 - University City, MO. Part of the St. Louis metro. The doors on a church on Delmar AVenue.

7 - Art Hill and the Grand Basin, Forest Park, St. Louis, MO.

8 - Chihuly Exhibit, Missouri Botanical Garden, St. Louis, MO.

9 - Autumn in Forest Park, St. Louis, MO.

10 - Jefferson National Memorial, St. Louis, MO. Again, the less photographed spots.

11 - Continental Insurance Building, St. Louis, MO. One of my interests. 1930s-era skyscrapers.

12 - Yardwork, St. Louis, MO. The Hill is such a great neighbourhood.

13 - Odessa Community Hall, Odessa, SK. The evening of an 85th birthday in the family.

14 - Odessa, SK. The town grain elevator.

15 - Wascana Park, Regina, SK.

16 - Long Lake, SK. Sitting on the dock by the cabin in the summer.

17 - Lake O'Hara, BC. Hiking on my honeymoon.

18 - Banff, AB. The view from Storm Mountain Lodge in the morning.

19 - Pumpkins near craven SK.

20 - Roca Jack's, Regina, SK. Coffee shop in the downtown.

21 - Iceberg in The Gut, Quidi Vidi (St. John's), NL.

22 - Mt. Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre, Argentina.

23 - Perito Moreno Glaciar, Argentina.

24 - Iguazu Falls, Argentina.

25 - Ema Boards, Meiji Shrine, Tokyo, Japan.

Hard choices. I had to go back and take off two of them to trim it down. I picked 13 images that I liked best.

My picks:

1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 11, 15, 17, 22, 23 and 24.

Most are landscape views. I'm such a sucker for landscape photography and paintings. My grandfather was an artist and mostly did landscapes. So I guess that's where my interest in it comes from, that and because I enjoy and appreciate nature. Most of those photos also reflect the mood I think I'd be going for if I owned a cabin. Sort of a relaxing natural surrounding.
