That's an excellent panorama! West End is looking so short in the background...

i found this on google maps. i think it is a really cool view of vancouver, it must be old as BC Place has its inflatable roof still.

When the sun comes out in February it is still low enough in the sky to cause lots of cross reflection of light between the buildings in downtown Vancouver, even lighting up the north facades sometimes.

Feb.15 '15, my pic, looking west from the Granville pedestrian overpass near Waterfront Station.

Feb.15 '15, my pic, sculptural vent (?) near west end of Waterfront Station.

That could just be a sculpture.
It was installed in the 90s when the plaza and façade of the parkade was cut back and the stairs installed.
The elevated plaza used to extend right to the sidewalk below and the parkade driveway wasn't very pedestrian friendly.

Thanks, the visual jumble caught my eye. A mix of shapes, angles and textures in the bouncing light.

My pic today 4:30ish from Hastings & Commercial looking west to downtown, proving beyond a doubt that I don't shop at Value Village!

I stopped very briefly to take one quick shot of this old building in downtown Vancouver (see original shot here) and about two seconds later this thug/drug dealer type guy was in my face saying "Why are you taking pictures around here?!!!". I said (in a voice loud enough to be heard across the street) "None of your business!!!". He backed off and turned away. I also decided to carry on and go. It was only later when I was having a closer look at the picture on my computer screen that I noticed the mysterious figure in the window. Maybe that was where the guy lived and that was his girlfriend? Or maybe he was just nervous about people taking pictures on his turf. I'll never know.

Few weeks ago we went to see a suite in Verona of Portico which is one of the taller towers of Fairview Slopes area. This suite was only on the 11th floor, but offered a pretty nice panoramic view of Downtown and Granville Bridge.

The suite had wonderful and very spacious layout and a large balcony, but there was a white carpet in every room and the building amenities were not that great. I might consider a suite in the higher levels, if one would suddenly become available, but that is unlikely to happen.

Some handheld photos from the balcony.

Another day, another suite. Keeping an open mind, we went to see a bit older building the Palais Georgia tower in Coal Harbour. There was a very nice completely re-done suite on the 23rd floor which is currently the strongest contender we have seen. Tomorrow we will see another very different suite in Metro Vancouver. Stay tuned as the search is on!

The Lions twin towers along West Georgia Street.

West Pender Place tower is right next door.

The intersection of West Georgia and Pender Street is very busy and noisy. A big minus for any building in the area.

West Georgia Street entering Stanley Park. The busiest strech of road in Downtown.

1500 West Georgia office will in the future see tall towers being built around it. I quite like this 90s office building.

23rd floor panorama of area.
